Special Needs: A family who will be patient with Penny while she adjusts to her new family, and will provide strong leadership so she doesn't feel she needs to take charge.
Description: Meet Penny! She is a very happy girl! Penny came to us when her owner died and his widow wasn't strong enough to walk her and get her the exercise she needs. She has been around other dogs, but is so excited to see them that some have perceived her as dog-aggressive. They could not be more wrong. With a proper introduction, Penny will play and play.
From her foster mom: As far as Penny, she it doing great. We intruduced her to my dogs and they get alone great. They play in the backyard for hours. I think I got her figured out, she is a very nervous dog that doesnt take to change very well. But once she is used to the new change, she is good. She is not aggressive, I think with her growling, its her way of saying Im scared. When she sees something she wants, she runs full force buts its cause she wants it, not to hurt it. She does this with people she sees on walks and stuff. She is a very good dog and all she needs is a firm hand. She has never tried anything with me but I think she sees me as the alpha. She just needs to know that she cant get away with anything.
